Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

Permit requirements depend on local municipal laws. In the City of Ottawa, a tree removal permit is required if the tree is over 30 cm in diameter at chest height. In the Township of Russell, a permit is not required to cut down a tree.

How will the tree be cut down?

Tree removal methods depend on the size, condition, and location of the tree. We may climb the tree or use bucket trucks and cranes when needed. Professional rigging equipment is used to safely lower branches and logs to avoid damage to surrounding property.

When should a tree be removed?

A tree should only be removed when there is no other option. This includes situations where a tree is dead, unsafe, diseased, insect-infested, leaning, blocking construction, or growing too close to a home or structure.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What true professionals! It was a rather windy the day when they arrived but that did not affect their ability to get the job completed. They were always communicating through their head sets as the work was getting done, keeping everyone safe. Riley had told us when we hired them that when everything was completed our property would look like they had never been there and boy they lived up to it. I would highly recommend this team!

Frequently Asked Questions

What factors affect tree removal pricing in Hantsport, NS?

Key factors include tree size, height, proximity to structures, site accessibility, and whether stump removal is included. We assess all of these before providing your free quote.

How often should I prune my trees?

Most species benefit from professional pruning every two to three years. Trees near buildings, utilities, or with particularly fast growth may need attention more regularly. We will advise based on what we see.

Do you offer emergency tree services in Hantsport, NS?

Yes, we provide emergency tree removal in Hantsport, NS and surrounding Hants County areas. Reach out any time if you have a tree posing an immediate risk and we will respond as quickly as possible.

What time of year is best for tree service?

Tree services can be performed throughout the year in Nova Scotia. The dormant season, from late fall to early spring, is often ideal for pruning, as structural issues are easier to assess and the risk of disease transmission is lower.

Do My Trees Need Annual Check-Ups?

For mature trees and those near structures, annual assessments are a worthwhile investment. Catching small issues early is almost always simpler and less expensive than dealing with them once they have progressed.
