Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

Permit requirements depend on local municipal laws. In the City of Ottawa, a tree removal permit is required if the tree is over 30 cm in diameter at chest height. In the Township of Russell, a permit is not required to cut down a tree.

How will the tree be cut down?

Tree removal methods depend on the size, condition, and location of the tree. We may climb the tree or use bucket trucks and cranes when needed. Professional rigging equipment is used to safely lower branches and logs to avoid damage to surrounding property.

When should a tree be removed?

A tree should only be removed when there is no other option. This includes situations where a tree is dead, unsafe, diseased, insect-infested, leaning, blocking construction, or growing too close to a home or structure.

Signs You Need Tree Removal in Lunenburg County

Some of the most dangerous trees look fine from the yard until the right wind hits. Knowing what to look for helps you act before an issue becomes an emergency.

Dead or dying branches that drop unexpectedly are an early warning sign. Cracks or splits in the main trunk, visible fungal growth at the base, major leaning that was not there before, and roots lifting out of the ground are all indicators that a tree removal service assessment is warranted. Hollow trunks and bark that peels away in large sections are also cause for concern.

If you are not sure what you are looking at, that is what our Tree Care Pros are for. A quick assessment gives you certainty, one way or the other, and helps you make a confident decision about your trees.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What true professionals! It was a rather windy the day when they arrived but that did not affect their ability to get the job completed. They were always communicating through their head sets as the work was getting done, keeping everyone safe. Riley had told us when we hired them that when everything was completed our property would look like they had never been there and boy they lived up to it. I would highly recommend this team!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do before your tree removal team arrives?

Clear vehicle access and foot paths around the tree where possible. Note any utilities, irrigation lines, or underground features near the root zone. Our team will do a full site walkthrough on arrival, but these details help us prepare.

Is tree removal possible during the winter months?

Yes, it is. Winter is actually a preferred season for many tree removals in Nova Scotia, as frozen ground reduces site damage and dormant trees are easier to assess structurally. We work year-round throughout Lunenburg County.

How much does tree removal cost in Lunenburg County?

Costs depend on tree size, proximity to structures, site access, and additional services like stump grinding. We provide a free, detailed quote after assessing your property in person so you know exactly what you are agreeing to.

How do you ensure safety during tree services?

Safety starts before the first cut. Our Tree Care Pros plan each removal carefully, establish fall zones, use ropes and rigging where needed, and follow strict safety protocols throughout. Our full insurance coverage provides additional protection for you and your property.
