Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

Permit requirements depend on local municipal laws. In the City of Ottawa, a tree removal permit is required if the tree is over 30 cm in diameter at chest height. In the Township of Russell, a permit is not required to cut down a tree.

How will the tree be cut down?

Tree removal methods depend on the size, condition, and location of the tree. We may climb the tree or use bucket trucks and cranes when needed. Professional rigging equipment is used to safely lower branches and logs to avoid damage to surrounding property.

When should a tree be removed?

A tree should only be removed when there is no other option. This includes situations where a tree is dead, unsafe, diseased, insect-infested, leaning, blocking construction, or growing too close to a home or structure.

Tree removal in a residential or commercial setting involves calculating fall zones, protecting surrounding structures, managing cut debris, and working safely at height. Without proper training and equipment, the risks are serious.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What true professionals! It was a rather windy the day when they arrived but that did not affect their ability to get the job completed. They were always communicating through their head sets as the work was getting done, keeping everyone safe. Riley had told us when we hired them that when everything was completed our property would look like they had never been there and boy they lived up to it. I would highly recommend this team!

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I prune my trees?

Most trees do well with professional pruning every two to three years. Trees near power lines, rooflines, or with rapid growth may need more frequent attention. Our Tree Care Pros will advise you on the right schedule for your property.

Do you offer emergency tree services in Kingston, NS?

Yes. We are available for emergency tree removal in Kingston, NS, when storm damage or fallen trees create an urgent hazard. Contact us anytime, and we will respond as quickly as possible.

What time of year is best for tree service?

Most tree work can be done year-round in Nova Scotia, though late fall through early spring is often ideal for pruning, as trees are dormant and structural issues are easier to identify without leaf cover.

How fast can you respond to storm-damaged trees?

We prioritize emergency calls and aim to respond as quickly as the situation demands. Response times vary based on volume after major weather events, but we keep clients informed throughout.

Do emergency tree removals cost more?

Emergency situations often involve more complex conditions, which can affect pricing. We always provide a clear assessment and honest quote before proceeding, even in urgent circumstances.
